“Our grade has a large sense of community. If someone is sick or dies, we show love and concern. The value of caring for each other makes our community strong.” – HMJDS Student

Our active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) provides HMJDS parents with opportunities to support teachers and students in a coordinated way, when and where they need it most. All parents are automatically members of the PTO.  We welcome parents (and grandparents) to attend PTO events, get involved through volunteering, and share new ideas.

The PTO has three goals:

  • To create a sense of community in which HMJDS families, teachers and administrators welcome and support one another.
  • To offer education classes that expand our parenting skills.
  • To support the teachers and specialists in enhancing students’ learning.

Volunteering through the PTO provides parents with opportunities to make a difference in the life of their school. Volunteering is also a great way to meet people, become involved, and to set an example for our children:

  • modeling Derekh Eretz (respectful behavior)
  • living our school Core Values
