Co-Curriculars

We know our parents want enriching after school offerings that link to and expand upon our school-day program encouraging our children to take ownership of their learning.

Co-curriculars are designed with the knowledge that young adolescents want to expand their interests, dabble in new areas, and pursue passions. We know from our alumni studies that co-curricular opportunities assist students in making positive transitions to high school in ninth grade and beyond.

“One of our most memorable HMJDS impressions was formed at our daughter’s Hanukkah choir performance at the IDS. Mr. Shaw was positive and warm, yet challenged all the students to do their best. I was so proud of our daughter and all the kids, and to part of this school.” – HMJDS Parent

HMJDS offers after-school experiences taught by our faculty and community professionals. Co-curriculars are an outgrowth of our school’s history of addressing different learning styles by providing students with hands-on opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills. From electives in fifth and sixth grade, and academic option classes in seventh and eighth grade, we know our families are pleased when given structured, quality alternatives.
